stiff zoom ring on 24-70 2.8GM

My new 24-70 2.8GM has a stiff zoom ring. I have also just bought the 16-35 2.8GM and 70-200 2.8GM which by comparison are both much easier and smoother to turn. Is it possible I have a fault on the 24-70 or is this the norm for this lens? Thanks

Welcome to the Sony Community.

I've recently read a few reviews on this lens which mentions that the zoom ring feels relatively stiff. So it looks like it might be stiff by design and maybe with time it will loosen up.

However if might be worth speaking with your retailer where you purchased the lens to ask for their advice.
