If using a standard rec709 profile with no log option, you'll find both darks and blacks clipped I believe.

Only by using a rec2020 profile will you get the full dynamic range, it may otherwise require a log profile to get the full range.

Hi I am seeking help (advice.) My brand new Sony FX30 doesn't seem to use the full dynamic range whilst in video mode? As you can see by the image of the histogram, the blacks get 'clamped', before it reaches the darkest pixels..same with the highlights and whites on the other side..

I have used factory reset and also pixel mapping still no joy. No picture profile or log settings enabled.

Any help would be great.

Cheers
