Granted - my dock is a few years old but is there a work around or fix for you to wake up the dock using the airplay feature on your iPhone Via apple music - any updates to the Dock - the green update light has never been illuminated in the 5 years of owning it

Currently no updates exist for the RDP-XA900iP. Have you tried a factory reset?

Yes tried a full reset with no joy - I have actually now invented a fix/solution for this where you can wake up the Sony RDP- XA900ip using Airplay - Im hoping sony will bung me a few quid for this!
