WH-1000XM3 - Only 2 channel 16 bit 44100hz on Windows 10?

When using the WH-1000XM3 connected to my PC (Windows 10), if I go to headphones properties -> advanced the default format is grayed out and set to 2 channel 16 bit 44100hz. Can this be changed somehow? This sounds like really low sound quality.

This is with the WH-1000XM3 Stereo profile. Not the crappy WH-1000XM3 Hands-Free AG Audio, which Skype is forced to use.
