      <description>I mostly use this bluetooth speaker for listening to audiobooks but even with all the unnecessary paraphernalia turned off I still only get about six hours of playtime. My phone is right next to it so distance isn't a problem and all the battery draining extras are off. Any ideas anyone,its new as well.</description>

&lt;P&gt;maybe that is because loudness doesn't increase linear and therefore e.g. to be twice as loud you need ten times the power instead of just two times. At least that is how I would explain that phenomenon to myself with my limited knowledge in audio.&lt;/P&gt;
