First charge or drain?

Probably this is a stupid question, but do you first fully charge brand new headphones (wireless) or drain them? I've been always told to drain new items and then fully charge, but the instruction manual says fully charge before using? Or it doesn't matter at all?

If it makes any difference the model is MDR-100ABN

Hi,

This was true indeed when using Nickel Cadmium batteries but with modern Lithium Ion batteries this is not needed anymore. You can fully charge the battery and don't have to drain it (draining it completely would harm LIithium Ion batteries)
