Car Stereo upgrade from FM/LW/MW to DAB/FM

In my caravan I have a Sony CDX-GT222 and have on the way to a Sony CDX-DAB500U just wonfering if anyone done anything like this as I'm wondering what the aerial connector types are?

I'm thinking cheapest way of getting DAB would be to use DAB aerial possibly the window stick on type.

I done a bit of research on combining the DAB and FM connectors to the caravans telescopic aerial now used for present car stereo. This seem to be horribly expensive.

Will I find the multi connector to be the same on both units?

The CDX-DAB500U installation instructions on the Sony Support page are so small as to be unreadable, printing off gives same result, anyone know of a source for readable copies?

Please have a look at the attached file. I've tried to put the diagram into a printable fomat (sorry, it's not the most beautiful one).

Regarding antenna I would recommend a separate DAB antenna since the characteristics are different between FM and DAB. Else the reception of DAB signals might not be perfect and you probably have lots of drop-outs.

Is it a male SMB?

Now received the car stereo and have initial plugged the electronic amplified Ring caravan aerial into the FM socket and it receives FM very well.

But on initial turn on it did a scan of DAB and surprisingly as stored some stations and they sound fine, yes with no DAB aerial connected. The DAB aerial connection is a short lead terminating with a SMB male, amazing that that is receiving as an aerial.

Something I need to find out is what is DAB1, DAB2 and DAB3 I'm wondering if they really all the same but allow more presets.

Bought a magnetic based DAB aerial at Halfords for £15 and it gives marvellous reception thanks for your help.
