topic NW-WM1Z Annoying Clicking in Portable Audio

Recently purchased the NW-WM1Z and it makes an annoying clicking sound in between songs. I have never heard a portable audio player (including the AK380) make a sound like this. I cannot even listen to music in bed, as the clicking keeps my wife awake. If this annoying clicking can't be stopped, I'm going to return it and give my £2600 to another company. This is disgraceful at this price point.
