topic NFC link not working? in Portable Audio

Both Currys sales people and the Sony website say that headphones MDR-ZX770BN and soundbar HT-CT80 are compatible. Tried and failed with NFC numerous times. Tried and failed pairing with bluetooth as well.

I am now of the opinion that both devices are receiving devices and therefore will never link. To establish a link, I think there needs to be a transmitter and a reciever. Please can someone clarify?

Much appreciated!

Hi there

Both these two devices support A2DP bluetooth profile. However A2DP is one way communications (ie uni-directional). You can have multiple A2DP profiles on a device though.

But you are correct, as designed these two products are 'receivers' and hence cannot transmit audio from the soundbar to headphones.

Can I assume that you are trying to send audio from a TV to the headphones via bluetooth (but have the soundbar connected)? If so, you can purchase a bluetooth transmitter which plugs into the TVs headphone socket. Search Amazon, there are plenty around.

Cheers.
