Walkman NWZ S639F problem

My walkman's battery gone flat, but when I plug it into my laptop trying to charge it, the walkman screen starts flashing continuously and freezes the laptop. Resetting didn't make a difference.

Is it dead?

I hope - not, any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. I have not used the player for a while now and it seems that the battery is totally flat. Unfortunately the computer does not recognise it, therefore I cannot charge it.

I had this problem before when the player was still under warranty and sent it to Sony UK. Apparently a firmware update was performed and the player was working for a year. Now the same failure again...

I think I might have a similar problem .The player will not charge.I thought of trying a new battery .I've looked on the net but can't seem to find anywhere selling one. Any suggestions ?

This of course asumes its poosible to replace it myself fairly easily.

Hi,

On ebay uk, I think they are selling these batteries, on the page it mentions nwz-s638f red which I presume is identical to the nwz-s639f (apart from being 8 gb more).

If you do a click on this link it should give you a result, hopefully.
