Sound distortion while on calls - WH-900N

I'm having a major issue with sound quality when joining a call or Discord Audio room. I frequently use Discord Audio rooms for group gaming activities and often use a Music bot to listen to music with my group, but these headphones severely distort any audio/video sound playing on my phone aside from the calls (voice) audio itself.

This is the same if im on a zoom/whatsapp/messenger call - call audio is fine but any sound from videos or music that i play will be severely distorted as if underwater. I end up having to use another cheap pair of wired headphones if i want to have a group call on and listen to music or watch videos together.

I've tried looking through the Sony headphones app to see if there's any settings I need to toggle on or off, gone through the different sound settings (noose cancellation, ambient sound) and nothing seems to fix this.

What am i missing? Very frustrated!

Have you tested the headphones with a different device?

You can't really use BT headphones as a gaming headset, BT profiles don't support dual audio streams like gaming headsets do (which is partly why most gaming headsets are either wired or wireless RF/WiFi but not BT).

Yes I've tried on multiple devices and the same issue persists.

By "multiple devices" do you mean multiple PCs/laptops? Or have you tried them with a phone or tablet as well?
