Hello!

After ~5-10 minutes of usage while being connected to my PC through its cheap USB bluetooth dongle the headphones will go mute. It will not play any music or sounds from any device until both devices are restarted and/or you wait 5-10 minutes. Oddly enough, it will send play/pause commands, but does not react to volume up/down.

If you turn the headset off, they'll be unresponsive for the same 5-10 minutes (will not turn back on unless connected with USB-C and reset by holding both buttons).

I did not experience anything like this with XM3s (I owned and returned two pairs, both had the seemingly very common bruising sound manufacturing issue) and I am wondering how this is even possible.

Generic Bluetooth radio

Microsoft

Driver date: 21.6.06

Bluetooth driver version 10.0.18362.693

Hi,

Maybe you're using the wrong BT profile or it's a matter of the dongle that doesn't support the required profile.

Do you experience the same issue when connecting your phones to a smartphone or another BT player?

Cheers

The XM4s connect just fine to a smartphone and a laptop with integrated bluetooth.

Today I bought a new bluetooth dongle and ran into the same problem (however only after ~20 minutes this time). I have also tried reinstalling the bluetooth drivers and have tested different profiles etc etc.

Hi @mentalfist

These dongles can be sketchy at bet. But I'd make sure that it's Bluetooth 5.0 compliant at least. The headphones support the following profiles: A2DP, AVRCP, HSF, HFP.

Win_88
