Unresponsive Touchscreen Xperia XZ3

i have all of a sudden lost the use of the touchscreen on my phone, i am still able to unlock it and get notifications through but that is about it, i am unable to close down any applications i have open or open any messages i have sitting. the phone has not been near water and it hasn't been dropped. any ideas why this is happening?

Hello @DonaldsonRyan,

did you try restarting the phone (preferrably in safe mode).

Alternatively you could get an OTG cable and control the phone with a USB computer mouse until you figure the issue out or get the phone fixed.
