Cant open apps stored on sd card

Hi, a few of my apps won't open, it says app stored on SD card. I've tried turning the phone off and on and I've tried taking the SD card out and reinserting it but no change. There is just a blue symbol with a little red SD card above it. I read a previous forum and they asked to check if was showing in Settings under Apps or if was showing as installed in Google Play. Mine isn't showing in Apps and isn't showing as installed on Google Play. Unfortunately the forum didn't help me further as the original request didn't have the same situation. Please can you advise how I could correct this issue?

Check again on the playstore even if it says that its installed see if you can reinstall it

Thank you! That has worked for my apps. I have some missing photos too though, any suggestions?
