I bought the Xperia 1ii yesterday on a good deal after reading the camera reviews. Unfortunately the 4g signal is horrendous indoors I need to stand at a window and leave the phone sitting up on the window handle to be able to keep a signal and to use it for a hot-spot. Has anyone else experienced this.

I only have one option 5g/4g/3g/2g. It seems like a problem with the phone picking up a good signal my old huawei gets a good signal but the Sony struggles indoors and out in my area.

Does it work better in other areas? and it may give you an option to manually select a network mode, under advanced.

In the general area the signal is poor my old phone never really struggled but this one is terrible. It only has one option which is 5g/4g/3g/2g there are no other choices. Thanks.

Okay, so how about manually searching for networks, from settings >> network and internet >> mobile network, maybe under advances, then disable the 'automatically select network' and select one manually.

Also, what network mode did you use on the Huawei if you still remember?

Hello, unfortunatelly I have the same problems. I still have the old phone and the comparison is horrible for Sony Xperia 1 II.

Old HTC U11 -

3G coverage - whole flat up to 15MB download and 2MB upload.

Xperia 1 II - 3 times not connected, by window 5 / 0,1 MB. Most of flat without stable 3G coverage.

LTE

HTC whole flat 800+1800 very good signal under -85db with high speeds up to 70-100Mbit

Sony Xperia 1 II 20-30Mbit / 1mbit etc.

800 only most parts of my flat. Sometimes even on 800 only mode signal under average -102db, when not touching of the phone sometimes -95db.

I really dont know if its problem with antennas or firmware, but it is nightmare. Many times on my ways I found out my phone had only 1 signal bar. On high coverage areas od city centre with excelent coverage on all other phones.

Very bad less than 100m from BTS.

Support is absolutelly not supporting. Said to reset phone. That didnt helped.
