Google Assistant No Show..

I have an up to date xz premium, and I can not get Google assistant to show up. I've tried holding down the home screen button but no luck. Is there anything else I can try?

I think Google Assistant activation depends on the language locale of your phone.

I ve tried changing the the language on the settings in Google app and in phone settings to US English but that didn't make a difference, is the problem that I brought the phone in the UK? My z5 compact has Google Assistant but for some reason the xz premium does not.

@Thanks I've already checked these requirements, do I need to change a setting to US language and leave it for a while? Or wait for Google to update for UK compatibility? Just strange that my z5 compact had assistant but not this newer phone, with newer updates.

Google Assistant is a server-related feature, meaning that no matter how up-to-date your phone's software and the Google app is, it still depends on whether Google enables it for your account and your device. there's not much you could do, I'm afraid, although you could try going to Settings > Apps > Google > Storage > Clear cache, or uninstalling the Google app updates and updating it again from Play Store. it's still not a 100% guarantee that you'll get Assistant that way, though.
