You must be either seriously blinkered or Sony staff.
The Z was plagued with overheating issues, many instances of melted motherboards on the Web.
Also many cases of poor battery life for the Z3+ even in reviews.
Since I've out the car and a tempered glass screen I've had no problems with breakages.
I've had many phones since 1980 and whilst I like the camera, which is now a pain with apps instead of features built in. This phone had out me off Sony. Unless I see a glowing review abut battery life and ruggedness.
So please stop with the blatent biased replies.
I'm another list soul for Sony.

I like Sony phones I moved over from Apple to the original Z. With that phone I had to be careful what I did as it would overheat and the battery would only last half a day.
Then it melted itself
So I had it repaired, at huge cost, I should have just bought abother.
At the same time I Bought a Z3+ to be my main phone, the fell out of my shirt pocket whilst bending down. It only fell about 0.5 metre but still cracked the back. I dropped my Z many times without a problem. That cost me quite a lot to be fixed plus losing the phone for a few weeks. Luckily I kept the Z.
The big bugbear on the Z3 is the battery both for overheating and life. When it's doing next yo nothing I'm lucky if I don't have to put it on charge during the day. But when using the Internet or a game I have to constantly carry battery back up,
Now Sony seem to think thier technology is getting so good they can use smaller batteries.well I thinks that's rubbish, no wonder they are losing the market.
I would much rather have a 2-3 mm fatter phone that I can genuinely use all day, it's probably be more rugged too, than an overly thin one like the current trend.
Sony are losing out on the market, and that's obvious by the difficulty to get cases. I rarely find a case shop that carries decent ones fir a Sony.
The last gripe is by the time I need a new phone and got one they bring out another new one!

@Slickdog

I'm sorry to hear about your issues, but the phone can't overheat nor melt unless it has been tampered with and/or has been exposed to water and the flaps were NOT closed properly and/or if there was a crack.

As for the Xperia Z3, you dropped the phone, it could crack or not, it doesn't matter if it has a case or a film protector, not just Sony but other brands, just google it.

As for battery life, I have great battery life with my Z3 but if the phone is older than 2 years, the battery will not retain as much charge as it used to, that's normal with any brand.

You can always get your device inspected by your Local support they can tell you if there's something wrong with your device, such as a factory issue, which unless the device is new, it's unlikely that that's the case, it could be due to the drop or an old battery.
