Using Xperia xz as ebook reader

Hello guys,
Being a recent owner of XZ I am not yet familiar with its peculiarities. Lately I want to read an ebook in pdf format. Is there a way to retain during the reading of a particular page you left previously as unfinished that you want to read in another time. Now I always have to start at the beginning and scroll down the last page I read which is a nuisance.
Is there a technique to go back to the page you left from your last reading..?
Does Google play had an app suited for Ebook reading?
