Just bought my C5 and when i use bravia engine my videos have far too vivid colors. I mean guys seem like they wear orange lipstick and nothing is even close to natural. I ve used other xperia devices, always had B.E on but never saw anything like this. Is this a screen problem, do i have to make an update or is it thats how it is?

It's not a white balance issue, it's the Bravia Engine Itself and somehow affect "aggressively" mostly just the lips, but if a video is HD 1080 the oversaturation is less.

I haven't noticed any difference between 720p or 1080p videos to be honest. On mx player switching from HW decoder to SW solves the "problem" but with youtube videos, well its just hopeless. I ll give white balance a shot though, but what i dont understand is why is it the first time i have this problem? Is it the full HD screen instead of my previous 720p? And imagine B.E was one of the things i liked in a sony

With the Z3c I have the same issue, so I can't answer your question but that's for sure one of the reasons why I don't use Bravia Engine or other enhancements.
