Z5 unstable since Marshmallow

My Z5 has been regularly crashing then slowly rebooting, sometimes a couple of times daily, since the marshmallow update. I recently did a full software repair and reset using pc companion and all was ok for a day or two, and then it started happening again, only now it takes up to ten minutes to actually power up. I've never so much as dropped my phone and it should be in immaculate working order so this is incredibly frustrating for me. I've had Sony phones for years and never had a problem until the Z5, and I was hoping it would be as fantastic a phone, if not better, than my old beloved Z2. What more can I do apart from taking it back to the O2 shop?

I have the same problem. I am TOTALLY dissapointed with the Z5. I don't know what to do. Is SONY a serious company ?

This seems to be a hardware issue, things to check, remove the SIM and SD cards and see if you experience a reboot.

I don't think it's a hardware issue, because it all started whan I've updated to Marschmallow. I think it's crashing with that BATTERY OPTIMISATION thing. They wanted to do something better with the BATTERY OPTIMISATION but they have done a DISASTER to my battery. I go to sleep at 12 pm and the battery is 100%, when I wake up in 8 am (after 8 hours) battery has gone to 40%!! Terrible. And I've paid 600 euros for that phone. I hope SONY company for which I have so much respect will correct this BIG FAILURE.

@arianit Then it must be hardware related. I leave my phone for 10 hours in night time, with WiFi actived, 3 mails sync, ~10 apps push notification (data tranfer a lot) but just drain 10% max (regular is 6%).

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't a hardware issue. I only know my phone was running swimmingly until the marshmallow update. It's blighted.

@JnMx you are right! When I removed the sim card the phone started to work perfectly. But now I don't know where's the problem. Is it an antenna problem, software or what ?? Do you have any idea, cuz I don't need the phone without sim card ? Thank you for your advices

@JnMx I Bought a brand new SIM card and the phone now is OK. I charged 100% last night and a woke up in the morning (after 8 hours) it was still 100%. Till now is working perfectly. Thank you very much. I appreciate your help.

@arianit - So what you're saying is, all the problems such as I've listed above were all solved just through the installation of a new sim card? Can it really be that simple? Seems like a really abstract fix to such a frustrating issue, but don't get me wrong, for I'm not dismissing what you're saying. I'll certainly try it, for sure, but I'll understandably be skeptical when I try this for myself just in case not everyone's, including yours, is indeed blighted with the same exact fault. Yet I do offer my thanks in advance, lest you prove me wrong.

JnMx - My phone was crashing, reebooting, draining too fast battery, lossing signal...but it DIDN`T take up to ten minutes to power up, like you wrote, my phone was normal powering up (30-40 seconds).

When brother uliwooly told me to check up the SIM card, I did`t took it seriosly. After some days just for curiosity I removed the sim card for some days and the phone worked perfectly, I couldn`t belive. But that I didn`t know where was the problem, anntena of my phone or what...than again I asked uliwooly, and than he advised me to buy I brand new SIM card, I did it, and the phone now is working just perfectly. This was the story.

PS: I even went to the service shop to repair my phone, even them didn`t know where was the problem, they`ve done just a hard format, nothing more. But now with brand new sim card it`s OK. Even I couldn`t belive that this was the issue. hahhaah

@arianit - Well I've taken your advice, bonkers though it seems, and have this morning had my local O2 shop swap me for a replacement sim. Fingers crossed I have the same success as yourself. If my phone is trouble-free after a few days, I shall have to send you a pint through the post

Bad news, I'm afraid - at least for me anyway. No less than a day into running a new sim, I've had two phone crashes already. So unfortunately this fix hasn't worked for me and I'm right back where I started. I'm pretty gutted, to be honest. My own particular Z5 is cursed.
