I use Xperia Z2 and SCR10 cover. There is a protective glass, but problem was before I started to use that glass. A firmware is the last 23.4.A.1.232, but problem began earlier (about two months ago).
During a phone conversation the cover Scr10 is closed, the screen is switched off (no lighting). But a touchscreen is still working, and by my ear I press the buttons on the display (lighting of screen is turned off!!!), I start programs, I open the top bar, I come into settings (most often in power management, because battery is on center of top bar), etc. Where to look for the decision?

Can you check if the same issue occurs in safe mode ?

Every now and then I do encounter kind of similar issues, not sure but I think the fibre on the inside (SCR10) is so soft and it touches the screen and if the display is on, it will be recognized as touch.

One answer might be that having double tap to wake active (I do have it too) might be the cause.

Yes, I tried both options. They do not work. During conversation I can at the switched-off screen and through the closed cover to open the top panel, to press icons panels or on the screen, to start applications. I can do it by a finger or an ear. When I open a cover and the screen turns on - I see result of these actions.

You may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

Let me right understood:
1. what is the "internal memory"? Is it /data folder or /sdcard (internal storage)?
2. whether there are all my apps staying in phone together with their data? or they all must to be reinstalled manually from GPlay?
3. if in 1. it means "internal storage", can I just copy a backup of it to PC and after repairing copy it into storage back?
4. I have stock rooted firmware with modificated TWP-Recovery. Is it not a problem for PC Companion?

1. internal is internal storage.

2. if you are rooted, you might be able to use titanium backup to for your apps and data.

3. I don't think that is how it works.

4. PCC might not install because of modified firmware. You can check however.

Of course, I can use Titanium Backup and I can copy internal storage. And than I can recover all my programs, their data and internal storage.
The last question is: is there any difference to use of the PCC program or to do a full reset to factory settings in the Android menu? Or I have to use PCC obligatory? What is such special done by this PCC program?

Yes, from device settings, you can perform factory settings reset. However, a repair with PCC is a different story as it will reinstall latest firmware.

Hi,
I want to continue of discussion of my problem. It was on 5.0, 5.1 and now on 6.0, and with three different touchscreens (one original and two not original). And there were several full resets, wiping all partitions, reflashing through PC Companion and Flashtool.

The problem:
During conversation a screen is switched off as it should be. But, touchscreen is not disabled. And I can (and I do!) touch icons on the screen by my cheek. It's a big problem! I run apps, enable/disable functions in top bar.
Any recommendations?
