My screen cracked while in a protective case. I did not drop it either. My phone is now useless.

I was told it was well made and durable. Was I unlucky and got a defective model or is the phone not as durable as claimed.

Aside from keeping my phone in a secure lock-box, how can I prevent this from happening in the future?

I've owned many motorola phones over the years and while they were far from perfect, I never had a cracked screen so this is a really dissapointing and costly experience. Even with Insurance, I must pay $150 to cover the deductable and get a replacement.

Please advise.

In advance, thank you for your time and consideration.

Avoid wearing tight jeans (at the pocket) and bending over whilst phone is in pocket.
Try not to sit on it. Treat it like the piece of glass that it is.
And if you need to back up before you send it off. You can plug a mouse in via the Otg cable which is usually supplied.
