I have used and loved the earphones you get with the Sony xperia z2, problem is I bought myself the Sony wireless earphones, which are also great. But now after not using my wired earphones for a few months, when I plug them in it won't pick up the sound. The earphones are perfectly fine I have used them on other devices and I also have used other earphones on my phone and it works. So it must be some sort of bug in the system or something can somebody please help.

Hi, have you tried 'unpairing' your wireless ones thru the bluetooth settings & trying the wired ones......maybe your Z2 keeps trying to find the wireless ones when you play music etc.....

Worth a try bud:smileysmileywink:

Does the headset have a microphone button? If so it may be using an unsupported configuration, to confirm please connect the headset whilst holding the button and continue holding it whilst attempting to use it and confirm if it works in that situation.

I guess the only thing left is to take a backup using backup and restore and factory reset your device (without wiping storage).

Then restore the backup.
