Anyone else having problems with there Xperia not remembering WiFi passwords since the new update I had a new router the day after the update and it doesn't seem to save the password so each time I reconnect to it I have to enter the password

settings > wifi > long press on your router > forget > restart your tablet > add the wifi password again

I have the same issue my z1 phone connects my tablet forgets the WiFi key done as above no joy can anyone Help?

My Xperia Z2 suddenly started forgetting wifi-passwords. I did not do any system update. When connected to a Wifi, it will sononer or later disconnect and when I try to reconnect it does not remember the password. There is not even a forget-option. I've tried that maybe it just forgets when it disconnects, but after canceling every sort of stamina-mode and power-save there is, and keep oon using the phone (so the screen is on), it still disconnects.

It is from Sweden, in Europe (part of the European union if that is of interest).

Version: 23.0.1.A.0.167

Android: 4.4.4

And there is no update available in the Update Centre.

Please help! This is idiocy!

thanks, but nope, did not work. It also appears on multiple wifis, so I guess it is something about the phone. The routers have not changed or updated their settings or firmware.

I see that this has been moved to the tablet-section, but that is wrong. This is a problem with my phone, not my tablet (which is just Xperia Z Tablet Wifi)

Sorry to hear that you have issues with WiFi.

I've seen this issue before a couple of times and it was then caused by a Google backup that was restored which contains saved WiFi networks.

Could you try to perform a master reset or software repair using PC Companion and when you then add your Google account, disable the option to backup and restore with Google and see if that helps? But please note that this will wipe all your data so first take a backup using PC Companion or other backup application.

I happen to also have a Xperia Z - same, suddenly it started forgetting the wifis. Sometimes even during the same day.

Now, lets go back to basics: I *wont* do a master reset (losing my data, applications and so on, and then having to do a re-install, which takes a lot, even with the backup process the Sony software provides), because it means losing so much of my precious client time.

I'm not going to do a master reset becase the Sony (Android) developers don't have enough skills to grant that wifi passwords are not forgotten (never happened that to me with other brands, say, Samsung or HTC), or management thinks this is not an important bug. Let me clearly tell you: it is. It is such annoyance that I feel like directly putting the expensive piece right in the garbage can.

No, if this is caused by a Google backup, either fix it from your side, OR provide a work-around OR something. Doing a master reset on such issue is a no-brainer.

Please, be respectful to your customers. We are not on Windows anymore. Get serious.

- Go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> com.sonyericsson.settings.wifi -> Clear data and restart your phone.

I have been having the same problem with both an Xperia Z, and an Xperia Z3+, both of them are forgetting WiFi passwords sooner or later. This is getting very frustrating. I have tried the solutions proposed but they do not work. I have cleared data, I have deleted WiFi's and re-inserted again, no solution however has worked. They keep forgetting my WiFi passwords!

This has started to become really annoying. My Xperia Z forgets all the passwords to wifi networks and consumes mobile data when I am next to my wifi router. I have no reason to see why I should do a factory reset when this started happening after a software update. Fix the bug!
