Hi all. I recently purchased z2. And im happy with it. I have a question regarding the screen. Is it scratch resistant? I mean even if i dot apply screen protector at all it will not scratch immediately? I hate applying screen protectors on my devices. Thanks!

Hi, lots of posts re this but basically nothing is scratch resistant.....depends how well you look after it, screen protectors are great for that added piece of mind but like you i hate them....saying that there are a vast variety of the plastic ones but what a lot of people are going for these days is the Glass Screen Protectors.....very thin & the overall effect is a lot better than the cheap plastic covers.......you can pay anything between £1.99 - £29.99 for them but with a little research you can get a really good quality one for a bargain price.

Good luck :smileysmileywink:

Yeah, the screen screen is scratch resistant. Mine doesn't have a screen protector for a week and there are no scratches or hairlines. But I suggest you put on a screen protector just in case you bump on to something.

The screen is 100% NOT scratch resistant. I had my first z2 for just under 3 weeks and after a visit to the beach it was covered in scratches, despite being wrapped up most if the time. Some were small but there were a couple of big ones. The first thing I did when I got my replacement Z2 was buy a tempered glass screen protector. It was about $15. You can't even tell it's only the screen. I would advise you get one for extra peice of mind considering the cost of a new screen is around $250.

What do you mean "what kind of beach?" The kind with sand, an ocean. My point is that the screen cannot be scratch resistant if mine scratched on a beach. We

I guess i have no choice but to apply a screen guard. I had a z1 before and i dont know what to do about the annoying anti shatter screen. Thanks for your responses.

The z2 doesn't have the same anti shatter cover the z1 has. Sony removed it. Get a glass protector and you wil be fine.
