I've read a lot of the threads on this, and thought it would be useful to set out exactly what the problem seems to be.

1. Sleep of death - once the phone is charged to 100%, after a few minutes its shuts down if still connected to charger. SOLUTION - download Safe Charge App, stops this from happening.

2. Once charge is around 66%-35%, the phone frequently crashes and turns off. As the charge goes down, the frequency with which this occurs increases.

3. Once charge is <30% it happens almost every few minutes whether the phone is being actively used or not.

I have tried - PC companion repair. Removing SIM card, SD Card. Safe Mode.

None of these solutions have worked. This issue appears to have started since the upgrade to Android 4.3 - however the phone is almost 2 years old and is used for SatNav, Netflix, etc so gets reasonably heavy use at times. My girlfriend has the exact same phone and I upgraded to 4.3 at the same time, but as it is only around 6 months old and is used less, I am assuming this is why she has not had the same problems.

From what I can gather, this is a known problem and it is likely that Sony will repair by changing the battery or something? Has anyone else had this problem and had their phone returned from Sony FIXED?

Is there any news for a fix from Sony being released? Perhaps a higher version of Android/Sony software update?

As an aside, I can upgrade in October... Shall I limp along and get a new phone then? I have heard the Z2 will be replaced by a new flagship soon...??
