A week ago I bought the amazing Z2.

I also have the 'gap-problem'.

In the corners I don't have the gaps and the screen seems just fine here.

I have a small gap in the middle, left side of the screen.

Here's a photo;

Is this a problem or are there more people who have a small gap at the same place?

In the store I compared it to another Z2, this one also had a small gap in the middle, but on the right side, near the volume buttons.

My Z2 works just fine and I am happy with it, so I don't think of exchanging it for another, but I like to know if there are more people with the same gap.

I got a gap on side of powerbutton too and in right upper and left lower corner. Some have it, some not. It' s just no good built quality. If you get the answer that it' s for banding material is just a bad excuse.

But it shouldn' t affect usage or waterproofness.

I truly believe that extending/banding of glass is not a hype, it's a physics, so maybe have a slight gap is not a bad thing:smileyconfused:

There are a lot of reasons that glass cracks i.e. quick difference in temperature, previous micro demages, etc.

It' s not about normal gaps. You got a half millimeter gap around the whole device but on some parts you have 1 millimeter gap. That' s bad built quality.

Should be OK. But you could make a waterproof-test at a Sony Store if it' s to unsecure for you.

Hi, if it is the waterproof functionality you are worried about rather than test it yourself.....as suggested take it into where you purchased it or your local Xperia Care Centre & let them test it.....best test is the vacuum test, but the shop where you got it wont do this....

At the end of the day if it does fail the test at least you have witnesses:smileyshocked:

It's a shame to see people having bad luck with the Z2, but I must admit that in my opinion, the change from a full metal bezel to plastic/metal was a bad move.
