Thommo - I don't count 6 screen taps as a solution. The bug is that the volume popup dialog is falling far short - especially given there's two huge buttons on the side of the device dedicated to changing it.

Set silent mode, sit down in the cinema, and a random navigation instruction fires off because media volume is still high.

Missing volume control?

Normally on an Android device when I change one volume slider there's a way to view the other. I've found that on my Z2 it's a right pain to try and change the media volume when a sing isn't playing or the ring tone when a sing is playing.

Normally I'd expect a control at the end of the slider to enable expansion of the dialog to include other volume slider(s) as well. Because there's no control, there is no easy way of knowing which volume you're changing nor whether you've finally changed the one you think.

Worse: the Quick Setting "Sound" button appears to have no effect on the media volume - only ring tone.
:((

Settings - Sound then Volumes - When changing volumes there should be a little icon saying which volume you are changing

i encountered the same problem, my previous phone can adjust all volumes.

however, there's a solution, if you can root your phone, install xposed, then install gravitybox tool. then you will be able to adjust all 3 volumes with the buttons.

but root your phone at your risk.

i also add temperature and download speed in status bar with xposed.

In fact, the three volume dialogue buried deep in the settings is what should pop up when pressing the side buttons, with a highlight indicating which volume the system thinks you want to change.
