Hey guys. Even when I have restrict performance OFF. it still lags on the home, back and recent apps button. I don't have a video but I'm just wondering if people are experiencing the same thing?

Done it on all firmwares. P.s I don't have the live wallpaper on

J

Hi, not experiencing the problem here, but here are a few things you should do.

Restart your phone! (If you have not tried to already)

1. You might have an application that is hogging resources

Go to Settings -> Apps -> Running

End any apps taking up an unusual ammount of memory or processes

2. You might have a rogue app/virus

Look into some AV software for android such as Avast

Un-install all unnecessary apps

3. It might be some sort of weird glitch, hardware or software

Boot the phone in safe mode( Go to the power off menu and tap and hold "Power Off" until you get the option to boot into safe mode. Restarting the phone will take it out of safe mode

Do a full factory reset/system restore (In your case it seems to stretch across firmwares..)

http://deviceguides.vodafone.ie/web/sony-xperia-z2/customise/restart/restore-factory-default-settings/

Use the repair feature in the Sony PC Companion

If none of these are the case, and you have tried to fix each one, take the phone back to the shop or a Sony service centre.
Good Luck! :smileysmileythumbsup:

If you ask me the problem is that people consider different amount of delay a lag. Since the phone otherwise works smoothly and there's no lag in animations etc. But when there's a delay of 1 sec before anything really happens after you press a button - that's _lag_.

Hey guys. I hope someone else is having this issue ( me and my friend )

The on screen navigation buttons are laggy when pressed, only the home and recent apps button. I don't think its my phone. Buy perhaps the firmware as it does it on all versions.

Tried factory resetting and different firmwares. Starting to get really annoying. So I flashed a custom ROM but it still happened. Just not as frequent. Starting to doubt this phone 😕 anyone having the same issues?

Perhaps a M8 of G3 would be better?

J

Have you used another Xperia Z2 to really tell what level of lag you are experiencing? Than compare it with HTC M8 or LG G3 but don't use those phones on display in mobile shops as they do not have similar apps you've loaded onto your phone.

If the lag is really obvious, take it to your Xperia Care Center to have it verified. Maybe a screen or motherboard issue.

His build number ended with 2.69 as I remember!

But when he updated the phone to the latest firmware (build number ends with 314) the problem was fixed! It was running perfectly smooth without any delay or a lag!

I am still experiencing this. It is getting really annoying. Sometimes the phone replies quickly to recent apps and home -buttons, but most of the time there's a lag there.

Running the latest official firmware. I wonder if it is a hardware fault of some kind. I get the haptic feedback instantly though meaning the hardware registers the touch, but the software is just taking its time to respond.

The reason why your xperia is lagging a little bit or sometimes is because sony set the cpu and gpu power to low to get the most out of the battery life. And it lags sometimes when playing games is because the samething! Sony is not setting the power to max!

Solution: root your device first then download an app from play store call trickster MOD and then set the cpu and gpu governor to performance then apply. Gpu and cpu governor is in different page btw. If you dont know how to root email me at now enjoy lag free. Btw it might drain battery little bit but it is worth it!

Me, i recently started a thread about lagging with games. Im still trying to figure out if its an optimization thing with the games and all. But so far any 3d games(RR3, Sky Force, Dead Trigger) have been getting fps drops. Already tried closing apps resetting and stamina off. I tried watching youtube vids to compare my performance with other z2 playing the same games, idk why mine is lagging. Barely lags outside playing games though.

It is not a solution, sorry. First of all it voids warranty. Secondly hacking your phone is only a workaround. It is a faulty software/hardware, by Sony. It is not the users responsibility to optimize the software.
