hallo.. i just got my new xperia z2 and smartband , but a couple a question about the smartband.

1. is it not possible to only connect the smartband with nfc ? everytime bluetooth turns on

2 . how do you make it work as a media player ?

it doesn't seem that the smarband works as a media player.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

1. What NFC do is that it's pair your SmartBand with your phone using Bluetooth so you don't need to pair them manually. The devices cannot be paired with NFC.

2. You can control the media player in the phone (Play/pause, skip to next song, previous song) with your Smart Band. See page 10 in the user guide for more information:

HTC user, smart band always disconnect by itself and can't recorded the sleeping hours

1. I have Z2, and always connect with NFC each time (which activates the bluetooth connection). If that doesn't work for you I would suggest clearing it and starting over again, but this time follow the instructions for connecting with NFC.

You have to keep the band pressed against or near the NFC tag on the back of the phone, until you see the connected status - only then can you move it off the back of the phone, otherwise it will not connect.

2. Works great with PowerAmp.

a) smartband must be connected to the phone i.e. you should see the symbol in the notification bar.

b) you will have to manually start the app.

c) press the button once on the smartband (you should see a scrolling notification saying the application is Media mode).

d) now tap on the top of the smartband (Yes I do mean on the top of it, not the side). One tap for play/pause. Two skip track forward, 3 for skip track back.

If it has been a while since you last tapped the smartband, you will probably have to press the side button first again.

Can get it to work with the walkman app, but does seem to be far more effective with PowerAmp.
