I'm sorry but I do not know what a Boat Browser is and it doesn't really matter or change the issue.

I had some time to inspect the matter a bit more and from what I copied and pasted around it's an issue with copied numbers with spaces from web pages (Chrome). e.g. try to google "123 456" and copy that from the results and you can not paste it to dialer, but you can paste it to url bar then copy it from there and paste it to dialer just fine.

Hi. Seems that you can no longer paste a phone number on xperia Z2 in the base phone app when wanting to make a call to it. On the xperia z a long press in the bar where a phone number is typed would give a paste option. Is this normal and if so can it please be addressed?

Hi,

It's the same for Xperia Z2, are you sure that you have copied a number? Because if you have not copied a number, you will not receive any option to paste a number.

Thanks for replying. I've got the numbers copied and if I go elsewhere I get paste options. Tried again to paste in the phone call app and still no option populating. Tried restarting the phone and still no luck. I'm on the 17.1.A.2.69 firmware build in case that is the difference.

That sounds strange, it works fine for me. Could you try to write 1234 in the dialer > Then long press the number and you should receive the option "Copy". When you have copied this number, long press again to see if you get the "paste" option.

That worked! And a few different attempts have shown that copying and pasting from certain websites in boat browser is where the problem is coming from. Dolphin browser and other copy locations work fine. Thanks for your help!

Hello,

I was able to figure out what the problem is with the dialer app. When copying a number for example "123456" I was able to paste it to the dialer normally. BUT when the number had spaces i.e. "123 456" it did not work (didn't give me a paste option).

It clearly is a dialer problem.

Thanks,

biistu

Hi,

My observation has been that at time when i highlight something in Boat Browser and click the "copy" icon it ends the higlighting of the number/text and remove the highlight options toolbar BUT the grey coloured popup that usually appears to confirm "copied successfully" does not appear. When that happens I can paste it back into Boat Browser and into the SMS section of the phone but not into the number dialler.

I 100% agree with biistu, numbers with spaces or separating characters will not paste. I asked a couple friends with the S5 to attempt copying the same # as I was attempting and paste to their dialer. Not a problem
