Thank you for your suggestion, but unfortunately it didn't work. The pics still show up focused on the screen but save as blurry poor photos when captured. frustrating 😕

Guyss i've been enjoying the AR effect for a while now and it's one of the coolest features in the phone, except for one problem! Everytime i try to take a pic, the screen shows that the lens focuses on the objects, and they become very clear (no blurriness at all); however when i take the pic, it is saved as the blurry one you see before the camera focuses on an object. Why is that happening?? Any solution??

If it takes time, just find a plain surface to aim the camera at & press the reset button.. It helps alot and effects directly pop up but my problem is that the pictures appear focused and perfectly clear on the screen.. But when i press capture photo.. BOOM! It saves a photo like it never focused at all! this must be an easy thing to fix with an update or something.. Out of desperation, i used the power and down volume button to capture my screen when the ar cam is focused 😛 and just cropped the part i wanted 😛 PLEASE FIX IT 😕

Please try this to potentially resolve the issue you are facing: Main Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Camera > Clear Data.

That is certainly odd and I can confirm that i have not been able to replicate the issue myself. With this being the case I would advise running a repair to reload the firmware:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

What are your thoughts about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

After you confirmed that you couldn't replicate the issue, i tried testing the ar effect cam again with varying distances to check when the focus seems to malfunction. I found that the ar effect cam saves the photos exactly like they appear at far and medium distances. However, when photographing near bodies, the cam seems to focus normally and the image is clear, but when i press capture the image is saved as blurry. So apparently it only happens when capturing near objects and sometimes at medium distances. Never at far distance. I don't know if this helps. I will try the repair you suggested and give you my feedback. Thanks alot for the support

Dear friends

After I read this post I avoided posting it again, but Im having the exact same problem. And I realize its happening not only with AR Effect but with Creative Effects too.

After I point to a subject and prepare to take a picture, the image seems in focus. Then I press the shutter. The focus starts to work going completely out of focus and comming bag to focus and then going out of focus again and in this moment the phone takes the photo, resulting in blurry images in 100% of the time no matter if its a landscape picture or a portrait.

Right now im trying to "hard reset" the phone as suggested by our staff member but I seriously doubt it will work, since I already did a hard reset by the time I brought the phone from the store.

I will let you know if the problem persists after this other reset!

Thank you in advance for the support!
