Xperia Z speaker not working

Hi ,

I am expereincing problem with xperia Z speaker , as recently updated with new android and new software update , xperia Z's speaker is not working , its working fine only with head set , if i play any videos without head set it doesnt give any sound , ring tone is working and i cant even hear if any calls answered in the phone.

Pls help me out , i tried repairing and updating the ph again and again , still the issue is same

Working fine with headset ? You mean the speaker works if you have head set inserted in your phone ? Or it's the headsets that work and the speaker doesn't work at all ?

If you already tried repairing it then I doubt it's a hardware issue. You will have to get your phone checked at service center.

I have gut the Same problem
After the 2nd update from 4.3 i wanted to listen my Music but my speaker wasnt Working. But with my headphones is everything perfect.
Please give me an answer for my Problem.

Hi Milan1225,

As already mentioned above, try to repair the phone using Sony Update Service, otherwise contact your local Sony Xperia Care for further examination.

Maybe it´s a hardware issue.

I also have the same thing after the last update it cant be a hardware issue for 3 people at the same time ;(

Hi All,

I have the same problem since yesterday. I already reinstalled the system without any result. It looks like while calling speaker and mic doesn't work but if I turn on loud speaker I can talk with out any problem despite pure quality. I can use headset for calling too.

Is any one there to solve this issue?? will it work if we revert back to oldest firmware??? Since I bought this phone I have been facing so many issues.......

I have an Xperia ZR not Z but it is a software problem ...

the phone thinks there is a headsed conected all the time, probably a bug

Try to remove the headset when you are in a call.Also,try settings-apps-all-smart connect,force stop and clear data.

Hi, same problem here too. Recent update seems to have disabled the ear speaker during calls. Large speaker works fine. Any more ideas much appreciated. This is defiantely a Sony issue and they should be resolving it asap. EE offered to swap the phone which is good of them, but i dont have 3 days spare to set up a new one

I have faced the same problem try this 99% will solve
Put ur headphones to phone and play song. Pull headphones while song is running phone will pause the song now just play the song without headphones. It should play on phone speaker. I tried and my phone is fine now

Hi i am.having xperia z from past one.year now nd my phone was swapped just ten days before warranty expired.one month before the phone got wet in rain and from past one month phones loudspeaker is not working and the voice is not.coming properly i showed in service centre they updated the software and nothing happned the voice is still.blurred they told get your phone replaced and get 50 percnt off on new phone but the issue is that if we see that only to get my loudspeaker ok ihave to spend 15000 rs plz help

Hi i have the same problem i am using xperia zr... Cant hear nething on a call without using the headphone or the loudspeaker... Even the notification sound goes off now and then and the the music too does not play on loudspeaker... Please helo

I have the same problem. Speaker not working randomly, I have to switch to loudspeaker when it happens.

Headset is always working. Please look in to it, I'm fairly certain it's not a hardware issue.

i just purchased used xperia Z.

the same problem is here.

listening speaker stops working , if i input audiojack and and remove it then speaker starts working.

what to do? the main purpose of the phone is to recive calls. if it cannot do that whats the point?

plus can anyone tell is it a software issue or a hardware?

Just signed up to say this absolutely works for me. But once the headphones go back in, the 'fix' or 'workaround' seems to only work 1 out of 10 or more tries.

Frustrating when you do go between the two often, but this method does work.

I have been facing the same issue since I updated my Xperia Z phone to Android Version: 4.4.4 Build No.:10.5.1.A.0.283.

1) When I am on a call then it's working fine with head set, but once I remove my headset, caller and callee both can't hear each other's voice, also if I put my phone on loudspeaker while call is on, then also it's working fine.

2) I can not hear songs when I remove my headset, but when the headset is on I can hear it.

Seems issue with new update from Sony.
