[Sony Doesn't care this at all] WiFi Status locked, cannot change or turn off

It looks like this is a general problem after ICS upgrade for Sony Xperia phone.

I didn't have this problem before even in worse firmware 6.1.1.B.1.10, but after using 6.1.1.B.1.54 two weeks, I have the problem now...

I can connect to AP after boot.

After use for a little time, the process "wpa_supplicant" start running, and never stop, just like the screenshot below (right-top corner).

When the process "wpa_supplicant" is running, I can neither turn off the WiFi, nor make any setting change about WiFi.

What I can do is reboot.

It looks that the WiFi status was been locked by this process.

According the information on the web (reference), this issue can be fixed after delete the file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant_bagscan.db. (rooted required)

But this file will automatic generated by wpa_supplicant, so the same problem may happens again.

Is there any way to fix this issue without rooted?

Your explanation may be relevant to problem I see. Connection to wifi fails after a short while, phone will also not roam onto known networks. The wifi app seems to 'freeze' and won't respond to the widget to turn on or off. It may also be sucking a lot of battery power (wifi shows high use in battery meter).

Please escalate to have this fixed anyway you can!

Yes, the power consume is higher in this status.

As I know, not only Xperia U but also Xperia P and Xperia Go have the same issue.

The only way (without reset the phone) to slove it is root, and delete the file " /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant_bagscan.db".

Hope Sony developers can fix this issue.

repair via SUS just a temporay fix method, just like detete the file wpa_supplicant_bagscan.db.

I also have the exact same problem. Except my phone isn't rooted and my only solution is factory resets from time to time......

Any help regarding this subject? Sony must have realized this is more frequent than it should be.. some sort of solution should be on its way. It's been far too long. Come on.. my family has 2 Sony Xperia and they both share the same issue...

I have sinds a few weeks the same problem. Always restarting my phone to connect to a wi-fi network.

I even installed the C.0 version but this is no solution for me..

I hope that Sony comes asap with an update or workaround for this problem.

No, Sony do not have any solution for this issue now.

I know some one send the phone back to Sony many times, finally he got a Xperia U with Android 2.3.7 for slove this problem...

By the way, although the are some users reported this problem, but they alway say "this is a case we never meet before".

There are some other people have the same problem.

But Sony still can't provide any information about the issue...
