pc companion update probs

i plugged in my xperia s to check for an update it said there was one so i went through the process-it then got stuck on preparing so i closed it and reopened again it now says my phone is up to date?

anyone know wot the problem is?

You ar on which build number ?

settings > about phone > build

Once again connect your mobile to PC Companion and see if an update is available

dont think 1257-3113 has been released yet, but the si number list is behind (like usual) so worth looking again

its saying on pcc that i have an update and its trying to prepare but seems to be taking a long time

have you tried updating using the SUS?

it took me about 25 minutes to download the update and dont know how long it took to install as i fell asleep

If PC Companion shows for an update then use this

SUS ( Sony Update Service) ... download and install it on pc and follow the on-screen instructions http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

thnks i was trying to avoid using sus as it wipes everything but will do it later if pcc doesnt work again

If you use SUS only for updating, it won't wipe anything

All data would remain.

Reinstalling the software using SUS results in a complete wipe
