xperia P screen flickering problem under various scenarios

Hi,

I am seeing an issue with xperia P, the screen starts flickering continously. the touchscreen doesnt work, have to come to home screen and need to restart the app. Seen this issue during the below scenarios,

1. while using the Image Galary

2. While using the following menu option in timescape i.e start timescape -> press the menu button from the transperant bar and choose settings

tried the option of setting the BigFont to normal, but even then the issue is still seen. Any input on how to resolve this issue would be of great help.

try restore factory data or

repair your phone with Sony update service/ PC comapanion

will restore factory data erase all the installed apps and user data like photos, videos, mp3 etc .. ?

if so is there a non disruptive way of doing this ?

It will only erase what is on the internal storage of the phone and not with sd card, but it does not hurt to make a backup for the sd contents.

hmmm

1.) try to maximize screen brigtness

2.) clear image gallery data, settings>aps>all(tab), look for gallery tap on clear data

3.) try above steps. but this time look for timescape and clear data.

I could solve the problem by 'settings reset' available under Settings->Privacy settings to solve the problem. This will only clear the data used by apps. Your apps/files/pictures, etc will remain intact! Try it.

This solved the problem exactly for timescape!!

Yet to try for galary, as the problem in galary was not very consistent as in timescape.

Great!

It may not happen in gallery as well, from my experience. I think the issue is due to some installed app. Uninstall all unused apps, especially BigFont app!
