Sony support's response has been shocking. I think they need to read issues nowadays and send some pre-automated replies.

1- apparently, it's not a known issue (e.g. it's only me)

2- they've asked me to do a network test and asked me for the MAC address and my postcode ... (e.g. they're going to blame my ISP)

Networking issues

Hi,

I have a recent SONY OLED 4k TV (65 inches I think) and have experienced networking issues. Which, for a high end product like that, is, in my opinion, fairly unacceptable.

The TV was connected through WiFI. From time to time, it disconnected from the WiFi. Weirdly, it happened more on the Channel 4 on demand app.

On the same room, under the TV, I have a PS5. Connected to the same WiFi. Weirdly, the Channel 4 app on the PS5 worked just fine, never had a connection issue.

I thought the WiFi was faulty on the TV, so I decided to use the Ethernet. I have a long cable that goes to the hub, which is connected to a BT disc. We have fibre with high speed internet.

Now, quite frequently, I get a message poping up saying 'Connected to the Internet'. I don't lose the connection, I can watch movies and series, but the pop up is very annoying.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to fix either the WiFI or Ethernet issues?

Thanks

Hi @salmoliv Yes, I suspect that it is a general problem, perhaps following a network driver update. It started happening on both my XR-55A95K and KD-43X89J a few days ago and I have seen other reports. If it bothers you I would report it to Sony. I've learnt to ignore it already but would be interested in Sony's reply.

https://services.sony.co.uk/supportmvc/en/Contact/Email?cat=televisions-projectors1
