Remote control receiver of KDL-46W905A not working. No light below on TV-unit. I have tried with replacement remote control but the problem is on the TV side. Everything else is working perfect, so need to get it fixed. Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

If you are certain that the IR receiver has failed, then I am afraid that your fellow customers on this community cannot help you.

A repair would not be economically feasible on your 10 year old TV. However you could try Sony Support Consumer Electronics

Highly appreciate your feedback. Its too cheap to buy a new TV (have bought 3 since) But the quality of the Sony is too good to wreck it! (3D and still have the 3D bluray as well) So I hoped there was a possibility to "bypass" the remote and get directly in the menu of the TV, so I dont have to get out of the chair and push buttons back 😉 I hope support has some ideas. I wish manufacturers support end-users sustainability interests. Thanks LightFoot!

You may want to try the app for smartphone (it is not supported anymore and I don't know if you can still download it) that will use the network instead of the infrared receiver...
