No Dolby 5.1 via Toslink

Hello Gents

My TV is the KD-77AG9.

The TV is not outputting Dolby 5.1 via the Toslink connector only stereo can anyone confirm the correct settings to allow Dolby 5.1 via Toslink.

I am using a legacy processor with no eARC so I need to connect via Toslink, however I do own an OPPO 205 with eARC when I connect the TV to the OPPO the TV then outputs Dolby 5.1 via Toslink but ONLY when the TV is connected to an eARC device. Surly the TV can output Dolby 5.1 on Toslink without eARC switched on or connected???

And it is just Dolby Digital 5.1, not Dolby Plus, or higher?
