KD-43XH8096 Will not switch off or on from remote

Once TV switched on manually using button at rear of TV the remote works fine but

cannot switch off from remote.

Remote checked on similar TVs at dealer who sold me the TV and on/off works perfectly

TV unplugged and plugged in again. No change

TV Factory Reset from settings. No Change.

TV less than 2 years old

Has anyone else had this issue?
Any suggestions for resolution.

Hi @Ian1234

My apologies for asking the obvious but there is nothing obscuring the remote pickup window on the TV like a soundbar?

I also went through a period when the power button didn't work as expected on my old KD-55XE9305. It was eventually fixed by a routine software update. However I did get to work during this period by holding down the remote power button for a second or two.

Thanks for the reply but no obstruction and holding down the button has no effect!
