S O L V E D ! ! !.

Well done rooobb. The KDL-32WD754 does have buttons hidden on the back.
I had a 1 Tb hard drive stuck to back of telly for USB recordings. It had gently come unstuck and pressed down on the buttons. Well I never!

Sorted!

Cheers rooobb.

Award yourself a cold bottle of your favourite nectar, straight out of the fridge.

Cheers

Neil

It seems to me like a button on the TV set (not the remote) is stuck ....

That does seem right but ...

1. I have pressed al buttons and cleaned remote.

2. I don't have another remote to swap out and test independently.

3. I notice that the light under the screen is flashing whether red or amber. This is as if a button on the remote is being pressed and continues even if I take the batteries out of the remote.

A further problem is that I am not able to access the Settings menu ... should the solution lie therein ...

Oh, just re-read your note. Good thought. Button on the TV.

I don't think this model KDL-32WD754 has buttons on TV. I have never found them. I shall go and find the manual and see if they are hidden somewhere cleverly.
