@IamNic

I am a bit confused. So why Mastered in 4K is on when I play a movie from my Apple TV 4K (with 2160p video at 24fps)? I have set the TV in a way that it switches to "Home Cinema" when the signal is 24Hz and in that case the Mastered in 4K flag is on although greyed out. So it applies to streaming via HDMI as well?

Hi @Redj69,

the setting "Mastered in 4K" is meant for Blu-Ray discs, which came out before real 4K Blu-Rays were released.

Their colors are mastered in a certain way to make it possible to up-scale it to a video, which is very close to native 4K.

Here you can find a full explanation.
